My business career began in the supermarket industry at age 13 when I began working at Ketner’s Supermarkets, which was owned by my uncle Glenn Ketner, for the princely sum of, $.35 cents an hour. I was making so much money I didn’t know what to do with it all. After graduating from Wake Forest with a BBA degree and a major in accounting, I went to work for Foodtown stores, later to become Food Lion, which was founded by my dad, Brown Ketner, my uncle Ralph Ketner and their friend Bill Smith. There, I was fortunate enough to work directly with my dad and my uncle Ralph where I gained incredibly valuable and unique business experience and knowledge that, I assure you, wasn’t taught at Wake Forest. Even after my dad’s death. I was fortunate enough to continue to enjoy mentoring from my uncle Ralph until he died in 2016 at age 95.
When my dad decided to leave Food Lion I made the decision to join him and he and I began developing a chain of restaurants that ultimately became known as Apple House Cafeterias and Buffets. We built that to a chain of 13 restaurants. While we both enjoyed the restaurant business, ultimately we made the decision that the help situation in the restaurant business was never going to get any better and, as such, we determined it was not a business we wanted to continue in. So we begin selling those restaurants off and transitioning into the real estate business. After spending several years studying the business, in 2002 we opened our real estate business and decided to continue with the Apple House name which we felt was an even better fit for the real estate business.
My extensive business background and unique business training from two of the Titans of business has proved to be invaluable in the development of our real estate firm and, through God’s help and guidance, we have become one of the most successful real estate firms in Rowan County, NC. We invite you and your friends to give us a call anytime we can help you.

After graduating from North Carolina State University with a BS in Mathematics Education in 1988 I started my teaching career. Twelve years later I earned my Master of Education degree at Catawba College and National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Math education. Shortly after earning those credentials in my career field, I decided I wanted to become a licensed real estate broker. In 2007, I accomplished my goal and have worked part time in the real estate business ever since. Now that I am a retired educator, I am pursuing real estate as a full time second career. In addition to working my real estate business, I am employed by Weight Watchers as a leader for two classes a week where I work with hundreds of men and women to better their health and mental well-being. My life's passion has been to help others achieve their goals and I look forward to continuing the pursuit of my passion through my real estate business.
I began my career in real estate in ‘multi-family’, helping people find their perfect apartment home. I have been CAM and CAPS certified in apartment housing which simply assures that I’ve always maintained a very high level of professionalism and care towards the customer. I was involved in leasing, managing and marketing for many different types of communities throughout the Charlotte region and South Carolina. I have worked with national corporate housing providers where I was personally integral in securing and maintaining the housing for the inaugural coaching staff and players for the Carolina Panthers. My clients included the Charlotte Hornets, several within the film industry and many local corporate executives. For the last 17 years I have sold and managed in the senior housing sector of the real estate industry where we helped retirees and their loved ones find temporary and permanent accommodations, throughout the Carolinas. We have worked with every level of care from active adult retirement through nursing and rehabilitation. Housing and the real estate industry has always been my first love. I truly enjoy the relationship that develops in the process and appreciate the value it brings to an individual and or family knowing they have found enjoyment and the peace of being ‘home’. I believe my well-rounded background in the industry is an asset to any home seller, buyer and or the person simply looking to invest. I stand firm in the belief that the client comes first, and that honesty, integrity and thoroughness is always a given. From marketing the asset and creating the perfect ‘curb appeal’, to any staging, preparation through to the execution of the sale- I welcome the opportunity to serve you!

I worked with my father for almost 18 years in the industry. I have a servant heart and enjoy assisting people in obtaining their dreams. "I joined my father, Jeff Ketner, in the real estate business in 2002. I enjoy the behind the scenes part of the business, which works great because Jeff enjoys the sales aspect. I treat all our listings like my "baby" - take pictures, measure, and find unique ways to advertise them on the internet so they get as much exposure as possible. My passion outside of work is spending time with my son and rescuing animals. Most of the time if you stop by our office I will have some type of critter in my office, rehabbing or bottle feeding it. I thank God for the great team we have at Apple House Realty and look forward to helping our clients however I can!"
I have several years of experience in mortgage banking as a mortgage loan assistant and loan processor. I enjoy being part of a team that helps people achieve their dreams. As a member of our team, I enjoy providing administrative assistance and quality customer service.
